Voces Novae

“Thank You” is an a cappella setting of a poem by Ross Gay, my neighbor and an internationally acclaimed poet with several published books and a faculty position at Indiana University Bloomington. The piece was commissioned by the Bloomington Chamber Singers (dir. Gerald Sousa) with funding from the Bloomington Arts Commission. BCS and friends produced a rehearsal recording in December 2022, but this will be the live world premiere! It features short soprano and tenor solos, 8-part divisi, and harmonics produced by the singers.
